This page is for current fundraising projects / items in addition to our ongoing Vervet Forest and Census projects. This year, with your help we have so far managed to raise additional funds which have provided enough money for a new enclosure and a microscope with built-in camera for our sickbay area.

2 Brush cutters needed – target to raise R6000 each
Every year there are bush fires in South Africa. Last year, despite all our efforts, we were hit badly by a fire in August 2007 which was a tragedy for some of our monkeys and enclosures. Each year thanks to our dedicated volunteers and staff working hard on firebreaks, we have managed to stop the fires in time but last year was very unfortunate.

To enable us to ensure we have even larger and better firebreaks on our 25 hectare piece of land and to prevent such a disaster happening again, we need a min of one more brushcutter, 2 if possible to help us get the job complete which will also enable the firebreaks to be cleared much quicker enabling volunteers and staff to focus on other much needed areas such as building new enclosures, integrations of monkeys into troops, working on our census and monkey patrol, education etc.
